July 21, 2026 — Purdue University
There are very few things that could get me out of bed at 5:00 AM. Purdue Engineering was one of them. There are very few things that could get me out of bed at 5:00 AM. I took an early bus from Chicago to West Lafayette. I was so worried about oversleeping and missing it that I couldn’t even sleep properly on the bus. When I arrived, I stopped at the Purdue Engineering Café. With a coffee next to me, I built the Purdue “P” out of LEGO and finally started waking up. At 10:00 AM, I joined an engineering information session.
Afterwards, I spent the next couple of hours exploring the engineering campus, including Neil Armstrong Hall of Engineering, Dudley Hall, and the engineering and maker spaces. At 1:00 PM, it was already time to leave. I got into an Uber with my LEGO Purdue “P” and headed toward Urbana-Champaign. I still had one more university to visit that day.
